Rosehip seed oil is derived from the pods of the wild rose primarily sourced from Chile where the rose bushes grow undisturbed and naturally without having pesticides applied to them.
Once the rose blossom starts dropping its leaves in late summer / early fall and wilts, the rose leaves behind an olive-shaped, red pod. This pod, also called “hip”, contains small seeds from which the oil is extracted.
How is Rosehip Seed Oil produced?
The rosehips are harvested in fall, ideally after the first frost when they have reached the maximum ripeness. Once harvested from the rose bush, the rosehips need to be processed quickly to ensure the highest potency.
The seeds are removed from the rose hip and then cold-pressed to extract the oil. An expeller method renders solvents unnecessary and maintains the natural state of the rosehip seed oil.
High quality rosehip seed oil is of orange color and has a strong smell not at all reminding of the smell of the rose. Some people might find the smell unpleasant, but it indicates that the oil was processed carefully and properly, and attests to its high quality.
Rosehip seed oil that is clear or yellow and without distinct smell, likely is a refined oil. Refined oil undergoes a process involving evaporation and subsequent condensation. While this process concentrates the aroma of the oil, the heat and water exposure also removes much of the healthful elements inherent to the rose hip.
How to use Kandala Rosehip Seed Oil
Kandala Rosehip Seed Oil offers great benefits for skin care, but is also very effective for nourishing and strengthening hair. This product can also be applied to nails. This oil is very potent and rich. Use it sparingly.
Using only a few drops, apply rosehip oil to clean skin and gently massage into skin in circular motion.
Pour a few drops on your finger tips and apply to your hair, massage into your scalp or the (split) ends of your hair.
Kandala Rosehip Oil is all natural and does not have side effects. Most people do not have any adverse reaction to rosehip oil. However it is a very potent oil and people with very sensitive skin may want to try a few drops and observe how their skin reacts. If redness or irritation occurs, discontinue use.
People with very oily skin should test how their skin reacts to rosehip oil.
Rosehip oil has a limited shelf life. Keep Kandala Rosehip Oil out of sunlight and avoid exposure to fluctuating temperatures. Ideally, rosehip oil is stored in a cool place; storing it in a refrigerator does not diminish its quality but is not required. Keep it dry and avoid prolonged exposure to oxygen.

Vitamin C prevents cell damage and promotes collagen production
Vitamin E (Tocopherols) and Vitamin A (Carotenoids) improves the appearance of scars, skin blemishes and uneven skin tones.
